Office Skills Collaborative Online Classroom

Welcome to the new Office Skills Collaborative Online Classroom. We are currently offering beginning classes in Keyboarding and Microsoft Office 2010. A Certificate is awarded upon completion. New classes will be added as they are developed.  Our Office Skills Collaborative Online Classroom is a fun and interactive way to learn Office Skills. Get the benefit of learning online while being in a classroom environment with an instructor, other students, discussion forums, chat rooms, lectures, presentations and video demonstrations.

Our instructor-led courses follow a traditional classroom format in the Collaborative Online Classroom. They have specific start and end dates and run from 5 to 8 weeks depending on the subject matter. Students complete weekly assignments under the guidance of the instructor.  The instructor will monitor all question and answer forums as well as monitor student performance and participation in the course.  All classes include hands-on practice lab exercises and assignments that can be uploaded to receive feedback from the instructor. Learn at your own pace and when it is convenient for you with our Anytime, Anywhere policy.

  • PowerPoint ClassThis e-course is an introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint 2010. PowerPoint 2010 is a visual and graphical application, primarily used for creating presentations. With PowerPoint, you can create, view, and present slide shows that combine text, shapes, pictures, graphs, animation, charts, videos, and much more.

  • Excel 2010In this course you will learn beginning Microsoft Excel features including setting up a workbook, working with data and excel tables, performing calculations on data in a spreadsheet, changing the workbook appearance and focusing on specific data by using filters.

  • MS Word 2010This ecourse is an introduction to Microsoft Office Professional 2010 using Microsoft Word. You will get familiar with the Word 2010 working environment including the ribbon and the Quick Access Toolbar. You will learn how to work with files in Word including creating, editing, printing and saving documents. Learn how to present information efficiently using tables, columns, tabbed lists and building blocks. Formatting documents using Quick Styles, text effects and Themes will be introduced.

  • KeyboardingThis self-paced e-course is for you if you want to learn touch-typing or improve your existing typing skills. You’ll use the EduTyping program, a typing tutorial designed for personal computers using Windows, Mac, and Linux systems, to learn how to touch-type. Students who successfully complete this course will learn how to touch-type quickly and efficiently on a QWERTY keyboard.

New Courses in Office Skills

We will be offering online Office Skills training in our new Collaborative Online Classroom starting July, 2011.  Our initial course offerings will include Keyboarding, Beginning Microsoft Word 2010, Beginning Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 and Beginning Microsoft Excel 2010. A Certificate will be awarded upon completion. New classes will be added as they are developed.
